Quade Brings it Home. Gooooo Cubs!!!
Posted on August 26, 2010 · Leave a CommentQuade is back and has led the Cubs into its third straight win! The team defeated the Nationals, 4-0!
After returning to the field from 3 1/2 months of recovery after having bone chips removed from his right elbow, he’s been proving himself as a STRONG manager for the team (after replacing Lou Piniella)!
There are plenty of other people who would be stronger candidates for the permanent manager position, but it would definitely be a good look for him. He seems to make the right decisions during the toughest times and situations; and so far, his “strats” have been working!
So what do you think? Would Quade make a great permanent manager for the Cubs?

Gardens of the Magnificent Miles
Posted on August 24, 2010 · Leave a CommentThere’s so much to do around the city of Chicago! And once again, there’s another music event coming to town that will have you all “bopping” your heads to the beats of enjoyable jams!
Come down to the Magnificent Mile from now until September 6 to be entertained by live performances while dining at some of your favorites! There will be all sorts of other activities to participate in along the Mile- in hotels, retail shops and other areas.
Has anyone from 1401 been out there this summer? It’s a beautiful place to find yourself around this time of the year. My favorite place to go is Howl at the Moon, the piano bar on Hubbard Street. You can expect to have a good time on any night!
So before the summer comes to an end, be sure to enjoy the available summer activities!!!

Now that’s Definitely a WEIRD LAW.
Posted on August 17, 2010 · Leave a CommentChitown has been known for a lot of things… but weirdest laws didn’t come to mind until I found this article on Chicago Tribune. Turns out, Chicago has some laws that’ll make you go, “huh?”
Did you know…
It’s illegal for a single woman to call a single guy “Mister”? The appropriate name would be “Master.”
Or what about this one:
If you have less than $1 in your pocket, you might be picked up for being considered a vagrant. I would get picked up almost everyday!
And let’s not overlook the fact:
That it’s illegal to go fishining in pajama pants.
Lastly, my favorite:
If you’re 18 and under, you’re free to protest naked. Anyone over 18 must wear clothing. Wow.
But wait…
There’s even stanger laws than those. Find out others, and see if you’ve broken any of them.

Use This for This….. Huh?
Posted on August 4, 2010 · Leave a CommentThere’s so many things your place at 1401 South State that can be used for more than what the label’s description says. For example, did you know that:
A pencil can help un-stick a zipper? All you have to do is rub the pencil on the two sides of the zipper, and wa-la! It will obey and go whichever what you want it to.
Rubbing a dryer sheet on your clothing can eliminate static on your clothes? Walk out the house smelling fresh and looking static-free.
A hanger can be used to eliminate static? This one was most interesting to me. The trick is to brush the hanger along your clothes in an up and down motion.
There’s other things around the house that you can use to help improve the look of your clothes as well as keeping them fresh.
What household items do you use to take care of your clothing?
